Son of Majesty

Our first album, Son of Majesty, was released in December 2006. SOM started out as a collection of songs that Amy had written with our children in mind. Amy loves to write for children's voices, and sometimes those songs change shape and come out in a different form by the time they are completed. Now, two years later, more of our children are able to lend their voices to the mix, and we love to sing together.

Last year, we started doing church concerts featuring the music from the CD. The concerts have been very well received, and gratefully, they seem to help accomplish the goal that was behind Son of Majesty from the beginning. It has been our desire, to create a CD project that would reflect the worshipful spirit we should be in at Christmas time, but often find we are not. With our commercial American culture and busy schedules, it is very easy to lose sight of the fact that Christmas celebrates the incarnation of God Himself!

That's why Son of Majesty has such a peaceful and worshipful mood. We hope that anyone who listens to it, will take the time to consider that wonderful work that God did in sending His Son.

You can learn more about Son of Majesty at our website, http://www.amyredding.com/, including song samples and stories behind the music.

May you be blessed this Christmas season!

Here he is ladies and gentlemen...Please welcome to the world, Camon (Kay-mun) Cole Redding!

Camon was born Nov. 8, 2008 weighing 9lbs. .2 oz. and 22.75 inches long.

We are blessed with Camon's arrival, and we thank God that he is here and he is safe and healthy. His brothers and sisters are all excited to finally have him here. He has been in mama's tummy for so long.

I am more and more convinced that even the blessings of good health and safety that we commonly take for granted are blessings from God. Thanks to all of you who were praying for us and lifting us up to God for His help and provission. You have been a blessing to us!

God's blessings to you all.

These are the Days...

I thought you would like this one...As you may or may not know, we are expecting a new little baby in mid-November! This is an exciting time for our family, of course, but in the middle of summer, it gets a little old for Amy. Heat, humidity, and pregnancy don't go well together for her. But in keeping up her good spirits, she decided to use a little comedy to lighten the load. If you know the tune "Days of Elijah" by Robin Mark, you can sing along with these new lyrics:

(Amy) These are the days of confinement
My belly is swelling once more.
And these are the days of emotions- soaring
And soon I won't fit through the door.

And though these are days of great trials
of cravings and nautiousness too.
Still we are awaiting this new arrival
With joy as we're praising the Lord!

Behold he comes
clothed in baby blue
in a bascinette and a diaper too
He lifts his voice!
It's the end of peaceful nights.
(Paul) I think I'm gonna move into the garage!

This verse goes out to all our friends who are also pregnant this summer. God bless you for the remainder of your pregnancy!

LAYING DOWN TRACKS...

Here's Paul laying down the guitar tracks for a new song. The song is entitled, "We Love You", and is a worship song that features Amy and the girls singing.

Paul is using a cut capo and standard capo to get the chord voicing he wants. Paul is playing a Taylor guitar. If you are a guitar player, but have never tried using a cut capo, you really ought to try!

Welcome to our blog

Thank you for visiting our blog. Our regular website http://www.amyredding.com/
is a great place to get information about our past and current projects,
but this blog site is where we hope to keep you up to date about
upcoming events and updates on the new CD we are working on.

In December of 2006, we released a CD entitled "Son of Majesty". It
received great response in our area, including a little airplay on an
area radio station. We did a couple concerts that year to introduce the
Son of Majesty project to the churches in our area and to join others in
worship of Jesus Christ, our savior.

Mid-November through mid-December of 2007 saw our family traveling
around the state to do seven concerts and speaking engagements in four
weeks! It was busy, but fun to take the message of the gospel to so
many places.

This summer (2008) we have been doing many more concerts of original
worship and inspirational music. We have often been asked, "Where can I
buy the CD of this music?", but unfortunately we have had nothing to
offer those people. But now we are beginning to work on a new project
of those songs! There is no projected release date for the new CD, but
we will keep everyone posted as we know more.

We appreciate all of your prayers on our behalf on this upcoming
project! We believe firmly in the effectiveness of fervent prayer for
recording projects such as these. We know that even our first CD has
touched hearts and lives in ways that we are not humanly able to
manufacture.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow...
Paul
